Ángel DeJesús Rivera-Sanches, 24, was arrested Tuesday and charged in connection with Rodríguez-Ramirez’s death the day after her body was found.
The last time the Rodríguez-Ramírez family heard from the 24-year-old was the night of October 22, when she visited a Walmart to exchange a photograph she had taken with an acquaintance.
A Walmart cashier said Minelys entered the Walmart that night around 9:30 p.m. and had been texting her fiancé Julio Tovor at the same time he was going to sleep.
Tevor said he woke up to find Minelys hadn’t returned home and realized his last text message wasn’t showing up right: She had texted him: “I’m waiting for bro to pick it up.”
‘It didn’t make sense. She doesn’t talk like that,” Tevor said. Now Habersham.

The mother-of-one had been texting her fiancé Julio Tovor (pictured together) the night she disappeared, and he said she strangely sent him a text message that “made no sense.”
His family urgently pleaded for answers when authorities launched a search, which soon discovered his vehicle parked on the side of a road near Walmart.
According to Now Habersham, witnesses said they saw a dark-colored pickup truck and a gold or yellow minivan next to Minelys’ vehicle at some point.
The search came to a tragic conclusion when Minelys’ remains were discovered in a remote area near a road parallel to the Walmart where she was last seen.
Authorities have not determined a cause of death and said the young mother’s remains will undergo an autopsy at the medical examiner’s office, and have not indicated how she was allegedly killed.
Rivera-Sanches’ arrest came as news of the discovery of Rodríguez-Ramirez, who was charged with one count of kidnapping, was announced.
Rodríguez-Ramirez’s family said she was a native of Puerto Rico and was affectionately known as ‘Mimi.’
Authorities indicated they expect to file additional charges against the suspect as they continue their investigation.
It was unclear whether police believe the alleged killer knew his victim or if this was an alleged random crime.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Minelys’ family said she had a nine-year-old daughter and had moved to the United States for work six years ago.
