A woman is at risk of death and suffering life-changing injuries after being shot in the rear in a car, and police are appealing for public information about a vehicle of interest.
Linley Anyos went to a house in Trees Road, Tallebudgera, on Queensland’s Gold Coast, about midday on Wednesday when he was shot in the back.
The 33-year-old man was sitting in the passenger seat of a car and police suspect the shot came from inside the vehicle and went through the seat.
“The victim remains in a critical condition, he is classified as serious but stable,” Detective Inspector Mark Mooney told reporters on Monday.
“The doctors will try to get her off sedation today, which is a really critical stage for her.
“There is obviously a possibility that she could go into shock and still die from her injuries.” The injuries he suffered are significant and will change his life.
Anyos’ father, Brian, said his daughter is “very bad” but is “fighting like a beast.”
“This is very hard for us and… please respect our wishes, knowing full well that we will relay each message to Linley as they arrive,” he wrote on social media.
Linley Anne Anyos, 33, (pictured) remains in a critical condition in a Gold Coast hospital.

Police ask for public information and dash cam footage after woman shot inside car
Police are now appealing to the public for information and dashcam footage from a white Hino tow truck they believe left the scene immediately after the shooting.
Inspector Mooney said the crane toured the Tallebudgera area before returning to Nerang after the incident.
Investigators are still solving the puzzle after taking more than 10 witness statements.
Police executed a search warrant at a Southport address on Friday looking for a person of interest.
