A Portland nurse who recently got married has been found dead after being reported missing earlier this week.
Authorities found the remains of Melissa Jubane, 32, three days after co-workers, friends and neighbors said she was missing, which was unusual for the dedicated nurse.
Concerns for her safety arose after she failed to show up for her morning shift at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland on Sept. 4.
Supporters quickly called police and around 10 a.m., officers responded to Melissa’s residence at 1050 SW 160th Avenue in Beaverton to conduct a welfare check.

“Upon arrival, officers were met by apartment complex staff and conducted a search of Melissa’s apartment. Melissa was not present and her absence without communication was deemed unusual and alarming,” the Beaverton Police Department said in a statement. Facebook post.
Later that day, Melissa was entered into national law enforcement databases as a missing person.
After her remains were found, authorities also arrested her Beaverton neighbor, Bryce Johnathan Schubert, 27, on suspicion of murder.
According Fox12Schubert worked as a nurse at Providence Portland Medical Center from September 2022 to October 2023.
The defendant did not work at Providence St. Vincent, where Melissa worked.
The young medical professional had married her boyfriend Bryan, 10 years old, on August 24 in a ceremony with family and friends in Waimea Valley.
“She is very humble, she is very pretty, she is smart, she is very intelligent, she is very respectful. She is like a daughter to me, she is very close to me,” said Imelda Llantero, her mother-in-law.
Her husband is from Kalihi and the couple met when she was visiting Hawaii with friends from Washington.

Providence St. Vincent also released a statement after Melissa was found, saying, ‘Our hearts are broken by the news of the death of our Providence St. Vincent nurse and colleague, Melissa Jubane.

Schubert is currently being held in Washington County, Oregon. A court date has not yet been set.
Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
