A bull rider has died after being trampled by a bull during a rodeo show in the city of Fátima do Sul in central-western Brazil.
A shocking video shows Fabiano Pinheiro riding the bull, known as ‘Safra Nova’, for around 13 seconds before being thrown off while competing at the Fátima Fest on Monday night.
The 36-year-old was kicked in the neck by the bull’s two hind legs as he fell to the ground, but somehow managed to get up on his own.
Three bull riders try to defend themselves from ‘Safra Nova’ while Pinheiro tries to jump over the gate.
A few moments later, the second door opens and the bull enters.

Pinheiro was treated at the scene, but died before reaching the hospital.
“He was hit by the bull and could still walk, but moments later he fell ill, was rescued and died on the way to the hospital,” Mato Grosso do Sul Civil Police chief Cristiano Hein told Brazilian media outlet G1.
Pinheiro lived in Junqueirópolis, a city in the southeast of the state of São Paulo, and had traveled to compete in the Fátima Fest.
He often shared photos of his work with animals on a farm and of bull riding competitions he participated in.

Fatima do Sul councillor João Sampati mourned Pinheiro’s death.
“We deeply regret the loss of Fabiano Pinheiro Rocha and express our condolences and support to his family and friends,” Sampati wrote on Facebook.
“This is a difficult time for all of us. Our thoughts are with all those who were affected by this tragedy at Fátima Fest.”
“He died doing what he loved, just like that boy who went to climb the highest mountain and ended up having an accident and died,” wrote one woman on social media, referring to Brazilian Marcelo Delvaux, who fell into the crater of Nevado Coropuna – the fourth highest peak – in Peru and was found dead on Sunday.
“Everyone takes responsibility for their actions, there is no one to blame,” he added.
Pinheiro was buried on Wednesday morning.
