Tragic accident in Parwan, Melbourne: Father dies, mother and two children rushed to hospital

A father has been killed while his two children and partner were rushed to hospital with serious injuries after two cars collided in Melbourne’s west.
The family – a man, a woman and their two children – were in a Ford traveling on Nerowie Rd in Parwan after 10am on Sunday when it collided with a Jeep.
The man died instantly, despite frantic efforts by witnesses and rescuers to resuscitate him.
His partner in the front passenger seat was rushed to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A teenager sitting in the back seat was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
A young girl who was also in the back seat was taken to hospital with head injuries.
This accident in the suburbs of Melbourne left one person dead and his partner fighting for her life.
Heartbreaking footage from the scene shows the Ford crushed on its side with the road littered with debris from the wreck.
Police say the driver of the Jeep was driving on the wrong side of the road when he crashed into the family’s Ford.
The driver of the Jeep was arrested at the scene and is assisting detectives with their investigation.
No charges have yet been filed as detectives continue their investigations.
“The circumstances of the collision have not yet been established and the investigation is ongoing,” said a police press release.

The fatal crash brings Victoria’s road toll in 2023 to 215 lives lost, 42 more than the same time last year.
