An American student has died in a car accident in the Scottish Highlands.
Emilie Anne Parker, originally from Colorado but studying at the University of Dundee, was walking her beloved Huskies Carver and Roo when a car collided with them near the town of Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands.
The tragedy claimed the lives of both Mrs. Parker and her pets. The 20-year-old man driving the car was not injured.
In a heartbreaking statement, Ms Parker’s family paid tribute to their “incredible sister, daughter and granddaughter”.
Her family said: ‘Emilie was an intelligent, beautiful and brave 30-year-old woman who was taken from us too soon.

The incident occurred at around 9.45pm on Friday 11 October near the town of Aviemore, near the Granish junction of the B9152, and involved a gray Peugeot 207.
‘She was a passionate adventurer who loved the outdoors. You could find her with her puppies, biking, hiking, rafting, skiing, dog sledding, or doing crafts when she wasn’t working or studying.
‘She was an incredible sister, daughter, granddaughter, niece, dog mother and friend to so many people who will miss her deeply. The world lost an incredible person, and her loss is felt by many who loved her. Rest in peace Emilie and we will meet again in another life.’
The incident occurred at around 9.45pm on Friday 11 October near the Granish junction of the B9152 British Highway and involved a gray Peugeot 207.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay of Police Scotland said: “Our thoughts remain with Emilie’s family. They have asked for privacy at a very difficult time.
“Our inquiries are continuing to establish all the circumstances and anyone who can help who has not already spoken to officers is asked to call us on 101, quoting incident number 3786 of Friday 11 October 2024.”
