Tragedy as two young girls are killed in horror highway crash after car lost control and slammed into a tree

Twin girls tragically died in a horrific accident after the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree.

The accident occurred on the Great Eastern Highway at Carrabin, between Merredin and Southern Cross in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, shortly after 11am on Sunday.

WA Police, St John Ambulance and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services attended the scene of the accident.

Police have launched an investigation into a single-vehicle crash that claimed the lives of twin girls.

“Upon arrival at the scene it was confirmed that the accident involved a white Toyota Camry sedan, which had left the road and collided with a tree,” a police statement read.

“Tragically, two seven-year-old girls died at the scene.”

The driver, 31, was taken by ambulance to Merredin Hospital.

Anyone with information about this accident, including anyone who saw the car shortly before, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.

The accident occurred on the Great Eastern Highway near Carrabin in WA on Sunday morning.
