Two girls, both aged seven, tragically died after the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree halfway between Perth and Kalgoorlie.
The girls, believed to be twins, died on Sunday morning at the crash site in Carrabin, Western Australia.
St John paramedics took the 31-year-old woman who was driving to Merredin Hospital.
“Upon arrival at the scene it was confirmed that the accident involved a white Toyota Camry sedan, which had left the road and collided with a tree,” a police statement read.
The crash closed the Great Eastern Highway for hours, blocking a major highway through the Wheatbelt region.
