A man working to remove a fallen tree from a shed died after falling on him.

The 64-year-old used a chainsaw to chop up the tree on Leeds Road in Yarawalla, Victoria, when the huge trunk fell on him.

On Thursday evening, a four-legged friend was crushed by a falling tree while sitting in the passenger seat in the NSW Blue Mountains.

Dearne Fulcher, 50, was driven by her son Dylan when the tree hit their Volvo, on Victoria Street in Katoomba around 7 p.m.

Mrs. Fulcher was killed while Dylan, 20, suffered horrific injuries and was flown to Westmead Hospital in western Sydney.
