The toyboy husband of Phil Collins’ ex-wife has revealed that he has a bond with the musician because of a shared love of history.

Thomas, who admitted to trying to play Phil’s hit In The Air Tonight with his old band, said he hopes the rocker and Orianne will reconnect, if only for the sake of their sons Nicholas, 19, and Matthew , 16.
He said, ‘I don’t want anything bad. I want them to have a good relationship for the sake of their children.
“There are graduations and marriages and all those milestones. That’s much bigger than all of this to me. ‘
Orianne and Thomas secretly married in August 2020 after only four months of dating.

Phil took his ex-wife to court to force her out of his £ 30 million home, with Thomas calling the film “ petty and vengeful, ” but insisted he had never had any personal issues with the musician.
It comes after Orianne said she felt “ trapped in a golden cage ” while staying with the pop star as he fell into an alcohol-fueled depression.
In January of this year, Orianne moved out of Phil’s Miami mansion with her new husband after paying $ 5.5 million before Christmas for the sprawling six-bed Fort Lauderdale property.
The 47-year-old said she decided to elope and marry Thomas after becoming lonely last year.
She told the sun: ‘I felt like I was trapped in a golden cage. When someone is depressed, it is difficult to help them.
‘As much as you love them, why keep on like this? After years you get fed up. Phil didn’t take care of himself.

If he wasn’t taking care of himself, you can imagine he wasn’t taking care of me.
‘It is difficult. You feel lonely and you feel like you can’t talk to anyone. I was super sad and super unhappy. ‘
She told the paper that Phil drank alcohol all day and refused to go out to see friends and that she stayed in a separate room and eventually started seeing other men.
Phil tried to get his ex-wife out last October after learning that she was secretly remarrying and moving Thomas, an aspiring musician 38 years his junior, into the $ 40 million house.
However, Orianne hit back, refused to leave, claiming she was entitled to half the value under a “verbal cohabitation agreement.”
Her $ 20 million counterclaim has yet to be tried, but in the meantime, the two sides agreed a deal that would allow her to stay until the end of January, giving her time to find a new home for herself and Phil’s youngest sons, Matthew and Nicholas.

That was a rare moment of compromise between the former couple, who divorced in 2006 but reconciled and lived together in Miami from 2016 to 2019.
The legal battle has further been bitterly fought with Orianne and her attorneys angered a Miami judge by including a slew of demeaning personal comments about the drummer’s hygiene and sexual performance in her documents, which she had to remove.
Phil’s lawyers hit back by ridiculing Orianne’s claims that she has a crippling spine condition that requires hours of daily therapy, wondering how she could post pictures of herself at a boxing fitness class and riding a jet ski while riding it said she couldn’t sit still long enough for a deposition.
The former Flames were married in 1999 and had sons Nicholas and Matthew before breaking up seven years later.
Despite agreeing to a record $ 47 million divorce settlement, they surprised the world in 2016 when they announced they were back together and living in the Miami home that Phil bought through an LLC.
However, the relationship ended, seemingly forever, when he discovered that Orianne had ‘secretly’ married Thomas in Las Vegas on August 2.

According to court documents, the Against All Odds crooner left for Switzerland in a hurry, giving the couple until October 12 to pack their bags and move so he could put the plush property up for sale.
When they didn’t leave, Phil sued Orianne for unlawful imprisonment and forced entry, accusing the couple of hiring armed guards, securing security cameras, and changing alarm codes to seize the house “ by force. ”
The newlyweds hit back with their own application, dismissing the charges as “nothing more than retribution” on the new marriage and a “shameful story” Phil had “made up.”
Orianne claims she lost a $ 20 million stake in her previous Miami home by separating a “ quickie ” from her previous husband, Charles Mejjati.
In further files – now dropped from the record – she portrayed Phil as a washed-up man who relied on booze and painkillers.
The In the Air Tonight crooner was “ usually drunk by mid-morning, ” her lawyers claimed, to the point that Phil fell over and injured himself before going to the hospital under an alias.
The filing immediately provoked a rebuttal from the Collins camp, which it described as “ a litany of arguably false, immaterial, insolent, scandalous, and gross allegations unrelated to the legal claims in this case. ”
Judge Spencer Eig agreed, scraping the humiliating allegations from the report, and warning Orianne that her $ 20 million counterclaim would be dismissed if she repeated them.
