Schumer has been working on the Kinda Pregnant project with co-star Will Forte.

In the Netflix comedy, she plays Lainy, a woman who becomes jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy and starts faking her own using a prop belly.

The bachelorette soon finds herself in a pickle after meeting the man of her dreams.

It was an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in February that led to Schumer being diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome. A clip of her interview quickly went viral on social media, with medical professionals weighing in online about what may have caused her face to appear swollen.

The star said she found out she had Cushing’s syndrome while promoting the second season of her show Life & Beth, after speculation about her appearance helped her realize “something was wrong.”

‘It’s been a crazy couple [of] weeks for me and my family. Aside from fears about my health, I also had to be on camera for the internet to intervene. But thank God for that. Because that’s how I realized something was wrong,” he said in News Not Noise Newsletter by Jessica Yellin.

Cushing’s syndrome is a disorder that occurs when the body produces too much of the hormone cortisol (known as the stress hormone) over a long period of time. Symptoms may include weight gain on the face and trunk, a lump of fat between the shoulders, pink or purple stretch marks, fragile skin, and more.

Treatment for Cushing syndrome is designed to reduce the amount of cortisol in the body and depends on the cause of the syndrome, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Schumer explained her journey to discovering her diagnosis: “While doing on-camera press for my Hulu show, I was also in MRI machines for four hours straight, with my veins closed from the amount of blood drawn and thinking I might not. I will be present to see my son grow up.

“So finding out that I have the type of Cushing’s that will just clear up on its own and that I’m healthy was the best news imaginable.”

When asked why she decided to share her “personal medical information,” Schumer said she wants to “advocate for women’s health,” adding, “The shame and criticism of our ever-changing bodies is something I’ve dealt with.” and I have been a witness for a long time.” ‘
