A tourist is in a critical condition with head injuries after a nightly fight in the far north of Queensland.
Police say the 28-year-old man had just left a Innisfail pub with a friend when he got involved in a fight with a large group of people early on Friday morning.
The man was reportedly hit by another man from the group, causing him to fall and hit his head on concrete.

It is clear that the tourist jumped back and kept fighting until the police arrived.
He was taken to the Innisfail guardhouse, where officers saw him feel unwell.
Paramedics then brought the man to the Innisfail hospital with head injury.
He was transferred to the Cairns hospital, where he stays in intensive care, police said Saturday.
Police arrested and accused a 35-year-old Innisfail man with serious physical injury and public nuisance.
He will appear in the Magistrates Court of Innisfail on Monday.
