England captain and Tottenham star Harry Kane will continue to sponsor Leyton Orient shirts for the third season.

The striker, who played his first professional game for the O’s while on loan in 2011, has opted this year to donate the space on the front of the shirt to mental health support line Shout.

Ten percent of the proceeds from shirt sales are donated to charity by the club.

The 28-year-old has previously chosen to support veterans charity Tommy Club and sent a thank-you message to the NHS over the past two seasons.

Kane told the club website: ‘I am very happy to sponsor the Leyton Orient uniforms for the third season.

“I was born just a few kilometers from the Orient stadium and I am very happy to be able to give something back to the club that gave me my first professional start.

“I am delighted to welcome Shout to this partnership. Covid has brought many challenges and these have impacted the mental health and well-being of many people. Shout provides an essential helpline and resources to the public and helps positively improve mental health and well-being.

“The special charities I’ve chosen for the front of shirts all mean a lot to me, and I hope this platform will help them get the exposure and support they need.”

Shout is the only free, confidential, 24/7 SMS mental health support service in the UK.

It was launched publicly in May 2019 and has since had more than 1.3 million conversations with people who are anxious, stressed, depressed, suicidal or overwhelmed and need immediate support.
