Tottenham have said goodbye to four stars at the end of their contracts.

Two of them have already signed for other clubs, while the other two become free agents.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are evolving as they prepare for their second season at the club, having finished fifth in their first season in the Premier League.

Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon and Japhet Tanganga will not be part of the next phase of development.

“We thank Eric, Ivan, Ryan and Japhet for their service to the Club and wish them all the best for the future,” the club said in a statement.

Dier joined Bayern Munich on loan in January and activated an option to make his signing permanent in March after reaching a quota of appearances.

He made 20 appearances for Bayern in an impressive loan spell, ousting centre-backs Kim Min-jae and Dayot Upamecano to become a regular in Thomas Tuchel’s team.

The 30-year-old will now spend time under the tutelage of Vincent Kompany, who signed a three-year contract at the Allianz Arena after leaving Burnley.

Meanwhile, Perisic has joined youth club Hajduk Split after initially arriving on loan in January.

The 34-year-old signed for the Croatian team with the intention of staying permanently and is now signing a one-year contract there.

A serious ACL injury meant he only managed six appearances in his final half-season with Spurs.

Sessegnon signed for Spurs for £25million from Fulham in 2019, but the left-back only managed 57 appearances in five injury-plagued seasons.

Sessegnon, once seen as one of English football’s brightest young prospects, has only managed one exit this season due to injury but will be hoping to rebuild elsewhere.

Youth academy product Japhet Tanganga has seen his progress stalled by injury but is looking to capitalize on a loan spell at Millwall.

As for Tanganga, he saw his first-team prospects decline despite an initially promising start to life when Mauricio Pochettino plucked him from the academy in 2019.

The defender made 50 appearances for Spurs, but spent the entire season on loan, first at Augsburg, where he did not play a game due to injury, and then at Millwall.

The Spurs have also let go of several younger stars.

Charlie Sayers leaves the development team alongside Billy Heaps.

Under-18 players Kieran Morgan and Han Willhoft-King, who were at the club since the under-8s and under-7s respectively, have also been sacked.

“We thank Charlie, Billy, Kieran, Han and their families for their hard work and dedication to our Academy and we wish them the best for the future,” Tottenham said.
