Tottenham have reportedly prioritized the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram with negotiations at an advanced stage.
Spurs are bracing for the possible departure of star striker and talisman Harry Kane, who informed the Premier League club of his wish to retire earlier this summer.
Thuram – son of French World Cup winner Lilian – has scored double-digit goals for Gladbach over the past two seasons and is part of France’s 26-man squad for this summer’s European Championship.

And according to RMC SportsThuram is set to leave the Bundesliga side during this transfer window and the player is in talks with Spurs about a possible transfer.
Thuram joined Gladbach from France’s Guingamp in the summer of 2019 and got off to a flying start in Germany, scoring 10 goals in his debut season in the Bundesliga, while Marco Rose’s side finished fourth.
The French striker also showed excellent pairing, forming a devastating partnership with compatriot Alassane Plea at the Bundesliga club.
Just last season has proved more challenging for both player and club, with Gladbach finishing in eighth place missing European football for next season altogether.
Thuram has had two successful seasons at Borussia Mönchengladbach
Thuram, who scored eight league goals in the 2020-21 season, made his debut in France last November and has managed to keep his place in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Euro 2020.
Meanwhile, Spurs striker Kane will also be present at the European Championship as England captain – with serious doubts about the 27-year-old’s future at Tottenham.
Spurs finished seventh last season and failed to win a trophy – forcing them to miss out on both Champions League and Europa League football for next season.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy sacked Jose Mourinho in April and interim boss Ryan Mason failed to inspire Spurs to a positive end to the season and poor catching up was compounded by Kane’s statement that he wants to leave.

Manchester City appear to be the most likely next destination for the striker, who is the Spurs’ second highest goalscorer of all time in their history, with Chelsea and Manchester United also interested.
For Levy, the immediate plan was to install a new manager at the helm of Spurs and despite failed moves for Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte, the Spurs appear to have turned to former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca as their next boss.
The club also hired former Juventus sports director Fabio Paratici as their new football director to help whoever turns out to be the new head coach.
