Tottenham propose to hire midfielder Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina with a buy option for £13.4million.

The 25-year-old – currently absent from Africa Cup of Nations service with Morocco – is reportedly keen on a transfer to play under Antonio Conte in north London.

The Spurs are first waiting for PSG to reach an agreement on Tanguy Ndombele’s loan amid offers from Valencia and Everton.

Amrabat has started in just one of his 11 Serie A appearances this season – which came in the 1-0 defeat to Venezia in mid-October – but played the full 90 minutes of his 31st appearance for his country as they set up an AFCON quarter – final with Egypt after beating Malawi in the round of 16.

Born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents, the midfielder previously represented Utrecht, Feyenoord, Club Brugge and Hellas Verona, among others, before moving to Hellas Verona.

But he looks set to be high on Conte’s list as the Italian looks to bolster his squad towards the end of the January transfer window.

Porto winger Luis Diaz and Wolves counterpart Adama Traore are also considered targets for Spurs.

But they will also be working on exits before Monday’s deadline, although ex-Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has remained coy about PSG’s hunt for the outcast Ndombele.

“I’m not talking about Ndombele because he’s not with our club,” Pochettino said earlier this week. ‘PSG is open to progress, to improvement.

“I think everything is open – one more week (in the transfer window)”
