Donald Trump posted criticism of the daughter of the judge overseeing the Stormy Daniels case just hours after he expanded a gag order to prohibit her from attacking members of her family.

Trump, who has been fined by another judge overseeing his fraud case in New York over an earlier gag order, found a new way to approach the line imposed by a judge. This time, he posted televised critiques from Fox News host Brian Kilmeade and George Washington law professor Jonathan Turley.

Trump released a six-minute video in which Kilmeade expressed concern about Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter, who works for an online digital defense firm with a list of Democratic clients.

Kilmeade referenced a ‘dispute over whether she had a photo on a website with Donald Trump behind bars,’ referring to a claim Trump made on Truth Social.

President Donald Trump posted a clip of a Fox News host attacking Judge Juan Merchán and making accusations against the judge’s daughter. It came after the judge expanded his “gag” order to prohibit attacks on his family.

—Also, the fact is that the judge’s daughter is an activist who works for Kamala Harris. she said, referencing one of the company’s accounts.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in his own filing this week criticizes Trump for posting Loren Merchan’s image and says the attacks are based on “transparent falsehoods.”

The post comes from an account X with a small number of followers that is linked to his account

“That, to me, is something that if I’m Donald Trump, I worry that the judge has a daughter who feels that way,” he said.

Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, weighs in to say that he has “opposed gag orders for years,” calling it a “really controversial order” and “wrong.”

Trump maintains that the gag is unconstitutional. He posted a clip of the Fox host making some of the same claims about Judge Merchan's daughter.

He said he would “prefer that Trump leave these attacks or these issues raised with the judge’s family to his attorney.” I think that’s always the best approach.

In fact, Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, on Tuesday filed a new filing once again requesting Judge Merchan’s recusal, after being denied in his previous attempt last August.

Kilmeade also calls the new expanded gag order “outrageous.” Merchan expanded the gag at the request of prosecutors, following Trump’s attacks on Loren Merchan. Bragg also referenced Trump’s online attacks on his own wife, whom Trump called a “Trump hater” after she posted that Trump had been “nailed.” During his New York fraud case, Trump went after Judge Arthur Engoron and his chief clerk.

Merchan’s original gag order prohibited Trump from making statements about prosecutors, court staff and his family members.

His updated order specifically prohibited attacks on the judge’s family members.

“This pattern of attacking the families of jurists and attorneys assigned to their cases serves no legitimate purpose,” Judge Merchan wrote in his ruling. ‘It simply injects fear into those assigned or called upon to participate in the process, that not only they, but also their families, are ‘fair targets’ for the accused’s vitriol.

Trump is hereby warned that any violation of this Order will result in sanctions under the Judiciary Act, he wrote, a statute that mentions fines and imprisonment.

Court officials said the X account mentioned by Trump was not controlled by anyone other than Loren Merchant. Trump’s lawyer argued that, in denying the rumor, the court itself had commented on the judge’s daughter.

Trump identified Loren Merchan by name in other posts, posted photos of her over the weekend, and also posted an image of a pickup truck that had a painting of President Biden strapped to the back.

Trump’s post came on a day when he also made a post calling Judge Engoron “crooked” while criticizing the $175 court judgment against him that he paid after obtaining bail.
