NFL Draft prospect T’Vondre Sweat was arrested in Austin, Texas, on Sunday for driving while intoxicated.

The 22-year-old, 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Outland Trophy winner, was booked into the Travis County Jail following his arrest by Austin police.

The former Texas defensive lineman, who has been projected as one of the top defensive picks in this month’s draft, faces a Class B misdemeanor, which in Texas carries a fine of up to $2,000 and 180 days in jail, according to ESPN .

The 6-foot-4, 362-pound defenseman declared for the draft after helping the Longhorns reach their first College Football Playoff appearance.

Last season, he recorded two sacks, eight tackles for loss, seven quarterback hurries, four pass deflections and 45 total tackles, earning him the Outland Trophy as the nation’s top interior lineman.

ESPN rates Sweat as the No. 3 defensive tackle prospect for the draft, which will be held in Detroit, Michigan, April 25-27.

Sweat, the younger brother of Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Josh Sweat, is unlikely to face any discipline from the league since the arrest took place before he joined the NFL.

However, the incident could be a blow to his draft team and NFL teams will likely be discouraged by his arrest.
