Rappers are the new athletes when it comes to creating uber-cool sneakers. While the LeBron James and Michael Jordan collections turn heads, the sneaker world paradigm has shifted in the marketplace. Kanye West and Pharell Williams are successful examples, but the new Travis Scott shoes are arguably the biggest draw.
Scott experienced a meteoric mainstream increase in popularity over the past few years, courtesy of his massively successful third studio album, Astroworld and infinite brand partnerships. Nike Travis Scott Dunks has let the rapper spin over various silhouettes ranging from Air Force 1 to Air Jordan VI.
As Scott’s index of collabs continues to increase, here is an overview of all of his projects thus far.
So sit back, relax and keep reading!
Travis Scott Dunk Low “Playstation”
First limited edition- pair of Nike Travis Scott Dunks Low made in collaboration with Playstation for the launch of the PS5. With only five pairs of them made, these shoes are Scott’s most rare sneakers to date. The sneakers are a flip on the PlayStation Air Force 1 from 2006, which became viral overnight.
While Air Force 1 came in black patent leather, the Dunks came in the colour palette of Scott’s choice, including soft grey and light blue suedes.
Travis Scott Air Jordan 1
Some sneaker collaborations are too iconic to fail. The crossover between Swoosh, Air Jordan 1 and Travis Scott introduced it to the equation of the most iconic sneaker collaboration yet. The coveting around Travis Scott Jordan 1 was aided substantially by his loyal fanbase on his Astroworld: Wish You Were Here tour.
Arguably the most exciting release of 2019, Scott’s Air Jordan I with a giant backwards Swoosh over the lateral panel, velcro stash pocket and five sets of laces set room for personal customization.
Nike Air Force 1 Low (White)
Air Force 1 marked Scott’s commencing collaboration with Nike. The limited run of these Nike x Travis Scott shoes caused a pretty high value on the resale market. Despite the incredible “ Sail” sequel that resells for less, the Nike Air Force 1 Low is a great shoe in its own right. And this collaboration started the ongoing partnership.
Air Jordan VI
Travis Scott’s Air Jordan VI, inspired with a military essence, is the most notable addition of a cargo pocket on the lateral ankle collar.
The olive green suede upper and bright orange accents quickly rekindle memories of the exclusive Undefeated X Air Jordan IV. With a shoe like that to compare, one of the best snake designs is a no brainer.
