They have never shied away from courting controversy on air.

But radio superstars Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson appeared to be pushing the envelope a little too far for Channel Seven’s Sunrise on Tuesday.

A live interview with the KIIS FM stars was cut short just as Jackie began to tell a story about how she once secretly spied on a neighbor while he was taking a shower.

‘She lit a cigarette and sat in the dark (watching him),’ Kyle added.

Sunrise hosts Natalie Barr and Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington were clearly amused by the yarn at first.

But then Shirvo brought the interview with the shock jock to an abrupt end: ‘I think we should leave it at that,’ he said.

Trying to stifle her laughter, Nat explained to the surprised radio stars: ‘We have different rules than you.’

After they were kicked off the air, Kyle and Jackie O continued to discuss the interrupted interview on their show.

At one point, Kyle suggested that the Channel Seven hosts may have feared the details of Jackie’s story might be too salacious for Sunrise viewers.

Meanwhile, the pair have announced they will be launching their top Kyle and Jackie O Show in the Melbourne market on Monday 29 April.

And Jackie said during the Sunrise appearance that there are no plans to change the show.

‘No … we’re going to stick with what we know,’ she said, adding: ‘We’re not going to tone things down or back down in any way.

‘It works here in Sydney, so we don’t really want to mess with it.’

The pair promised the show would become more ‘inclusive’ of Melbourne and include the city in its awards ceremonies, which were previously only for Sydney residents.

Kyle and Jackie recently moved into a state-of-the-art studio in Sydney as part of their $200 million deal.

The entire ARN office moved from North Ryde back to a city in Sydney last week.

The radio duo signed the record $200 million, 10-year deal live on air – keeping them on the airwaves until 2034.
