  • Tony Bellew predicted that YouTuber boxers Jake and Logan Paul will be ‘injured’
  • The two brothers chose to venture into the ring and have had varying degrees of success
  • Rookie Logan will face Floyd Mayweather in a practice fight next month
  • Jake has since fought professionally three times and won all his matches
  • But Bellew believes the popular trend will eventually lead to a serious accident

YouTuber boxers Logan and Jake Paul have been warned they are ‘putting their lives on the line’ by Tony Bellew, who tipped someone off to end up ‘getting hurt’.

The siblings have both made a name for themselves on the online video-sharing platform and decided to enter the ring with varying degrees of success.

The older brother, Logan, will take on the very best Floyd Mayweather in Miami next month, and Bellew, who is no stranger to fierce fighting in the sport, is concerned that a serious accident could happen.

“These guys aren’t fighters,” Bellew said BBC Radio 5 Live. ‘If I go to play football at Goodison Park tomorrow, will I be a football player? I wish it was because I would definitely just walk in and tell them I’m playing.

‘These guys are not real boxers. They are someone who is exercising. I have no problem with that.

But they shouldn’t really call themselves professional fighters of any size because it is wrong what they are doing to the sport by claiming to be fighters.

‘I’m fine with you making a few pounds, the only thing I’m going to say here that has never touched anyone before and you will hear it for the first time now … understand somebody will hurt this and it will come back on boxing. ‘

Jake has a professional 3-0 record, but has yet to face off against fighters who are well-established in the sport.

So far his triumphs have come against YouTuber AnEsonGib, former NBA basketball star Nate Robinson and ex-UFC welterweight Ben Askren.

Logan, meanwhile, has only fought twice since entering boxing and suffered defeat to YouTube rival KSI after a draw in their first fight.

His next test will come against world champion five weights Mayweather.

“The boys are stupid, they are putting their lives in danger,” added Bellew.

“There are companions who would sweep the floor with both of these clowns, companions. It’s disrespectful to the sport to think these guys are fighters. ‘

When asked for a prediction of Logan’s fight with Mayweather, Bellew was shrinking over the underdog’s odds.

“This man gets his butt handed over by Floyd Mayweather,” Bellew said. “He’s going to play, he’s going to be absolutely schooled.”
