Tones and I have revealed that she suffered a miscarriage on stage just hours before the biggest show of her career.
In a heartbreaking Instagram post on Tuesday, the Dance Monkey hitmaker shared incredibly personal details of the loss that occurred ahead of her show in Melbourne on November 9.
Tones, whose real name is Toni Watson, said the tragedy occurred on stage during the final dress rehearsals of her show, in front of “30 choirs, 30 dancers and 50 crew members.”
“I was at the point in the show where I hit the big note on ‘to be love’, the first song on my last album, when I hit the big note I felt blood rushing down my legs, usually an uncomfortable but manageable situation. “Especially since this was a rehearsal and not a show, except…I was 9 weeks pregnant,” she wrote.
‘I was almost 100% that I was having a miscarriage the night before the biggest show of my career.
‘(My husband) Jimmy (Bedford) and I left rehearsals and were at the hospital at 8.30pm. The pain started to set in and after not sleeping that night they told me I was having a miscarriage.

“I was told around 11am on the day of the show that the show would not be possible and that I would have to stay home and rest and I am not condoning going against the doctors advice in any way, but I would be lying if my mind did.” I don’t instantly go to the creative team, to the production team, to the dancers, to the choir, to the FANS.
‘I knew there was no way I could let everyone down. So I promised I would come back and left. I arrived at Rod Laver just in time for my meet and greet and the end of the sound check and show.
“Offstage it felt like a blur, but as soon as I got onstage I was transported, it wasn’t like any show I’ve ever performed, I was picked up and offstage by my family, who didn’t know anything,” I told three people that night. and letting everyone else’s energy carry me through this moment without wanting to let this show pass me by.
He then revealed that he received more medical attention after the show.
“After the show I returned to the hospital where the surgery was completed the next morning.”
Tones and I surprised fans when she announced last March that she had married Bedford during a secret ceremony in Bali.
‘Well, we weren’t planning on spreading the news until after the single came out, but I MARRIED my best friend!’ she wrote on Instagram at the time.

Tones announced her engagement to Jimmy in January 2021.
The singer shared a photo of the couple kissing as she raised her hand to show off her diamond ring.
In her caption, Tones simply added a ring emoji, as well as tagging Jimmy, who she had been dating for two years.
Jimmy, nicknamed ‘Bedders’, is a former bricklayer and player for the Victorian AFL team, the Frankston Bombers, who now follows the Dance Monkey hitmaker around the world on tour, as his stage technician.
