Tones and I have revealed that she suffered a miscarriage on stage just hours before the biggest show of her career.

In a heartbreaking Instagram post on Tuesday, the Dance Monkey hitmaker shared incredibly personal details of the loss that occurred ahead of her show in Melbourne on November 9.

Tones, whose real name is Toni Watson, said the tragedy occurred on stage during the final dress rehearsals of her show, in front of “30 choirs, 30 dancers and 50 crew members.”

“I was at the point in the show where I hit the big note on ‘to be love’, the first song on my last album, when I hit the big note I felt blood rushing down my legs, usually an uncomfortable but manageable situation. “Especially since this was a rehearsal and not a show, except…I was 9 weeks pregnant,” she wrote.

‘I was almost 100% that I was having a miscarriage the night before the biggest show of my career.

‘(My husband) Jimmy (Bedford) and I left rehearsals and were at the hospital at 8.30pm. The pain started to set in and after not sleeping that night they told me I was having a miscarriage.

“I was told around 11am on the day of the show that the show would not be possible and that I would have to stay home and rest and I am not condoning going against the doctors advice in any way, but I would be lying if my mind did.” I don’t instantly go to the creative team, to the production team, to the dancers, to the choir, to the FANS.

‘I knew there was no way I could let everyone down. So I promised I would come back and left. I arrived at Rod Laver just in time for my meet and greet and the end of the sound check and show.

“Offstage it felt like a blur, but as soon as I got onstage I was transported, it wasn’t like any show I’ve ever performed, I was picked up and offstage by my family, who didn’t know anything,” I told three people that night. and letting everyone else’s energy carry me through this moment without wanting to let this show pass me by.

He then revealed that he received more medical attention after the show.

“After the show I returned to the hospital where the surgery was completed the next morning.”
