Tommy Fury SIGNS contract to fight Jake Paul on August 6 at Madison Square Garden

The battle has begun! Tommy Fury SIGNS A Contract To Face Jake Paul On Aug. 6 At Madison Square Garden After ‘The Problem Child’ Given Him A 24-Hour Ultimatum, With The Pair Finally Ending Their Bitter Feud

  • Tommy Fury signed a contract on August 6 to fight bitter rival Jake Paul
  • It comes less than 24 hours after ‘The Problem Child’ gave him one last ultimatum
  • Fury withdrew from their proposed match-up last year due to injury and illness
  • The pair will now finally face each other in New York’s Madison Square Garden

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul will face it on August 6 at Madison Square Garden, New York, after the former announced he’d signed a fighting contract Thursday morning.

The pair would go head-to-head in December last year, before Fury pulled out after a broken rib and chest infection leading up to the fight.

Paul, who instead went 5-0 when he spectacularly took out former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, previously insisted he wouldn’t give the Briton another chance.

Paul announced in May that he would be returning to the ring in August, with Amanda Serrano – whom he promotes – also on the bill. The YouTuber-turned-boxer then gave no indication as to who the opponent would be.

Fury revealed on Thursday that he has finally put pen to paper ahead of the highly anticipated showdown, but stated: “Just to let you all know that the fight continues on August 6, the contract has been signed.

“After weeks and weeks of waiting for Jake Paul to sign up for the drug test — and potentially jeopardize the fight — he’s finally signed up for the drug test.

“We’ve agreed a contract that we’re happy with, so the fight continues and I’ll see you on August 6.”

Fury’s announcement comes less than 24 hours after Paul gave him a final ultimatum, with “The Problem Child” suggesting via social media that his counterpart was once again in danger of missing the fight.

Paul tweeted: ‘Tommy Fury, you pulled out last year. Then you agree to fight me now, but your father is trying to get you out again?

“We gave you everything you asked for: $2 million wallet, VADA tests, tampons.

“You have 24 hours to fix this, or I’ll never give you this chance again.”

That came after Fury’s father, John, insisted that a fight between the two should take place outside the United States, with neither he nor his son Tyson currently able to travel to the United States.

The bout will be Fury’s second of 2022, having slammed to a six-lap victory over little-known Daniel Bocianski to go 8-0 in April.

Paul, meanwhile, has not fought since his stunning knockout win over Woodley in December last year.

It was his second straight win over the American, taking him to 5-0 after also beating YouTuber AnEsonGib, former basketball player Nate Robinson and MMA fighter Ben Askren.
