New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito set tongues wagging Sunday morning with a bizarre outfit choice for his arrival at MetLife Stadium.
The young playcaller, who has risen from QB3 to starter for the Giants this season, was preparing for a big game against the Baltimore Ravens.
But fans quickly noticed that he had opted for a striking purple jacket when he arrived at the stadium… the exact color of the Giants’ opponents on Sunday.
“The lowest point is when your starting QB dresses like the other team,” one fan wrote as social media quickly lit up with criticism of the 26-year-old.
“Raven purple in honor of the shouts he gets today,” another added.
DeVito was the Giants’ third-round pick this season, but has been catapulted back into the spotlight following injuries to Daniel Jones and Drew Lock.

The culmination of a terrible season for the New York franchise saw them release Jones a few weeks ago, and their record now sits at 2-11 before the Ravens game.
MetLife Stadium was far from full during the Vikings’ visit on Sunday, and Baltimore took an early lead in the first half, thanks to a Mark Andrews touchdown.
The lead was doubled shortly in the second quarter thanks to a Rashod Bateman TD.
Fans took to social media mid-game to throw even more shade at DeVito, this time for his playing skills rather than his fashion choices.
“Tommy DeVito never needs to play in the NFL again, just awful,” said one, while another claimed Devito is “the worst professional QB I have ever seen.”
