Acting legend Tom Selleck hit the streets of California for a workout to mark the end of his long-running TV police drama Blue Bloods.
The bearded 79-year-old sported an all-black ensemble as he headed to the gym last week in Thousand Oaks, the first time he’s been seen outside since the show wrapped its final episode in June.
Selleck is said to have moved back to his California ranch with his wife Jillie after 14 years of traveling to and from the East Coast to film the show, which was suddenly pulled by CBS bosses late last year.
As he worked his way back into shape, Selleck wore high-waisted shorts, a black T-shirt and Brooks running shoes, sporting his signature bushy mustache accompanied by a silver beard he’s been growing out for months.

Selleck’s appearance at the gym was the first time he was seen outside since he wrapped filming on his long-running police show Blue Bloods.
Selleck made no secret of his disappointment at the end of Blue Bloods, and after show bosses announced last year that they would stop filming, he said he hoped they would “come to their senses.”
Although filming on the show has wrapped, fans can still look forward to seeing the actor at the conclusion of its 14th and final season in October.
And while Tom may be happy to have more time to hit the gym now that he’s back on the West Coast, he said in January that he’s “learned to love” his busy schedule.
“Sometimes the hours are a little harder because I’m older, but so what?” he said. Insider information about television“I want to work as long as they want me.”
Selleck, who was previously best known as Magnum P.I. and also for his role in Friends, won legions of fans with his role as Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods, a fictional commissioner of the New York Police Department.
While working out at the gym last week, Selleck wore high-waisted shorts, a black T-shirt and Brooks running shoes.
Tom’s signature bushy mustache is now complemented by a grey beard.
The actor said earlier this year that he plans to continue working despite his advanced age. “Sometimes the hours are a little bit harder because I’m older, but so what?” he said.
Selleck has come a long way since his most famous role, as private detective Magnum.
She has starred alongside Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan and Will Estes since September 2010, and said that when the show was cancelled, fans were sure to react with fury to the decision.
“CBS will find that a lot of people are not ready to say goodbye,” he said at the time.
“The show is more popular than ever and I think (the numbers) will only increase with the interest it generates this year. We haven’t run out of ideas.”
When filming wrapped, a source said Tom was ready to enjoy some downtime on his 65-acre California ranch that he shares with his wife Jillie Mack, 66.
“He wants to relax at his ranch, walk around his property, spend time with his wife and family and do some traveling,” a source said. Nearest magazine in January.

Selleck made no secret of his disappointment at the end of Blue Bloods after 14 seasons, which would give him time to reprise his role as fictional New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.
Though he said the showrunners would come to regret cancelling his show, Tom is reportedly excited to spend more time with his wife Jillie Mack, 66.
A source previously said Tom hopes to spend his final years at his ranch in Ventura, California, with his wife and daughter.
However, Tom revealed in May that the fallout from the Blue Bloods finale could end up costing him his final years at the ranch.
Despite a career spanning decades in Hollywood, including a $200,000-per-episode deal for Blue Bloods, she said Sunday morning on CBS who was in danger of falling behind on their bills after the program was cancelled.
“You know, I hope I can keep working long enough to keep my job,” Selleck said, to which CBS correspondent Tracy Smith responded: “Seriously, is that a problem? If you stopped working?”
Selleck said: “That’s always an issue. If I stop working, yes. Am I prepared for life? Yes, but maybe not on a 63-acre ranch!”
The source added to Closer magazine that as Tom approaches retirement, he is more in love than ever with his wife and daughter Hannah, 35, an accomplished equestrian.
The source said: ‘Tom is very close to Hannah and is very proud of her competitive show jumping career.
‘He hopes Hannah finds love and has children, but he’s not the kind of father who pushes for that to happen.’
