“There’s only a 16 month age difference between our two kids and it’s certainly been a lot even without considering our circumstances, so I won’t have any more kids about the same age – once was enough.”

Kelsey also revealed that she and Tom have decided how to tell their kids about their father’s brain tumor when they are old enough to understand.

She said, “I want them to know that life isn’t always rosy, but we’ll get through it. I know we’ll say, “Daddy has a brain tumor, but he’s fighting it.”

Tom is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has confirmed that he is ‘responding well’ to the treatment and that his tumor has shrunk ‘significantly’.

Kelsey said she wept tears of joy when she learned that Tom’s tumor had shrunk and that the couple are looking to the future with “nothing but positivity.”

The mother of two added that she has not researched any statistics on Tom’s illness and says she prefers to “take each day as it comes.”

The former boy band star recently said he refuses to “pity himself” amid his ongoing health struggles.

Tom said that although he has times of ‘overwhelming sadness’, he finds no strength in sadness and is determined to ‘hold his head high’.

He wrote: ‘If you think I’m just sitting at home feeling sorry for myself… I won’t!

“Don’t get me wrong, I could easily do that. There are times of overwhelming sorrow, but I find no strength in sorrow.

“It’s a terrible situation, but I’m moving forward with my head held high.

“Thank you all for the love and support. I’ll give you an update later on how the treatment is going’ (sic).

Kelsey recently revealed that the couple’s children are too young to understand “how sick their father really is.”

During an appearance on Loose Women, she said: ‘I just think they don’t really know that Daddy is sick right now. When Tom goes to treatment, he is free or goes to work or wherever he goes.

“So to them, they don’t really know how sick their father actually is. They are doing so well, the kids. We’re all doing very well.’

Despite Tom’s shock diagnosis, Kelsey said he’s doing “very well.”

She explained: “Tom is doing really well. We had a meeting last Thursday and he just had another stable scan so he is doing so well.

‘We have only just started our second round’ [of chemotherapy], so we’ve had radio and chemo, we’ve had a break because he had a bit of a dodgy liver, and now we’ve just started the second round of chemo.

‘The tumor has shrunk, we have had a significant reduction. We were all in tears when we got that news in January.

“We just couldn’t believe that he’d had radio and chemo and then had a significant reduction. We were all so overwhelmed.’
