EXCLUSIVE: Tom Keane – BROTHER of Everton defender Michael – joins Manchester United to replace transfer chief Matt Judge as the club prepares for a busy summer spell

Everton defender Michael Keane’s brother will join Manchester United next month to replace outgoing transfer negotiator Matt Judge.

sports post understands that attorney Tom Keane, of the law firm Brandsmiths, will join the Old Trafford club in an advisory capacity from next month.

He is expected to take on some of the responsibilities vacated by Judge, the club’s director of transfer negotiations, who is leaving United this summer after submitting his resignation.

Keane will now play a key role in negotiating transfers and contracts during what is expected to be a busy period for United following the appointment of Erik ten Hag as new head coach; with Frenkie de Jong and Pau Torres as targets of the club.

Brandsmith’s website states: ‘In sports, Tom has extensive experience in the football industry, where he has become a trusted advisor and representative to well-known players, managers and pundits.

“His work for these clients includes negotiating high-value transfers, contracts and endorsement agreements.”

Brandsmiths are headquartered in London and Manchester.

Keane is also listed on the New Era Global Sports players’ agency website as an FA registered intermediary. The lawyer is also the brother of former United player Will, who now plays for Wigan.

United are in the process of revamping their transfer structure, of which Judge has partially tendered his resignation.

The Old Trafford reshuffle is being led by football director John Murtough and the expected arrival of Keane is the last major appointment.

sports post exclusively revealed on Thursday that United are interested in outgoing Liverpool sports director Michael Edwards, who is also admired by Chelsea.
