Tom Hiddleston reunited with co-star Hugh Laurie to film series two of The Night Manager in Richmond-upon-Thames on Wednesday.
The Thor star, 43, was in high spirits as he joined the House actor, 65, to resume work on the thrilling BBC show.
Tom cut a casual figure as he flashed a brief smile to co-star Hugh during filming, after fans were delighted by the news that The Night Manager would be returning.
Hugh’s appearance on set will also come as a shock to many fans, after his character, villain Richard Roper, died during the show’s first season.
The notorious arms dealer was last seen at the end of the first series of the BBC One thriller, when he was forcibly abducted, apparently to face death.

A source commented on his unexpected return last month, telling The Sun: ‘Everyone was working on the basis that he had been killed off in series one, so this will be a nice surprise.
“This will only increase the excitement for the long-awaited sequel, which has already begun filming and is expected to air next year.”
This comes just a day after Tom was spotted on set for the first time, with his character Jonathan Pine running along London’s famous South Bank.
It was a long night for the Loki actor as he filmed the tense outdoor scene at 4am.
Inspired by the characters from John le Carré’s bestselling novel, the first series won multiple BAFTAs, Emmys and Golden Globes and was watched by over ten million viewers, making it one of the most-watched television shows of 2016.
Tom himself won a Golden Globe for his role as former soldier Jonathan Pine and, speaking after the shock announcement, he said: ‘The first series of The Night Manager was one of the most creative projects I’ve ever worked on.
‘The depth, scope and complexity of Jonathan Pine was, and remains, a fascinating prospect.
“I’m really looking forward to reuniting with Simon and Stephen Cornwell, David Farr and Stephen Garrett, and working with Georgi Banks-Davies to tell the next chapter of our story. I can’t wait.”

In addition to Tom, the series also starred Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood and Elizabeth Debicki.
Tom did nothing to quell rumours about the upcoming series when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this year.
When asked by an American talk show host about Hugh Laurie’s possible return to the show, the actor said: “I don’t know. He’s a big influence, he knows the character better than anyone.”
Kimmel responded: “That sounds like a lie, certainly, because you just said you broke the story. How could the story have been broken without knowing if Hugh Laurie is in it?”
Sharing the clip, one X user wrote: ‘Kimmel catches Tom Hiddleston blatantly lying about whether he knows if Hugh Laurie will be in The Night Manager seasons 2 and 3.’
Hugh will join Tom as an executive producer on the series, which is being produced by The Ink Factory, but it remains a mystery whether he will reprise his role as Richard Onslow Roper.
The new seasons will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK and globally on Prime Video, in a deal brokered by FIFTH SEASON, which is handling global distribution of the series.
