Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are the latest celebrities to fall victim to a robbery after a gang attacked their Los Angeles home in broad daylight.
Law enforcement officials revealed that TMZ that the star’s clifftop home was burglarized a few weeks ago, when thieves broke glass to gain entry to a guest house on her property.
The actors were out of their hometown when the security alarm was triggered by the broken glass, but this did not stop the criminals from entering the $26 million residence in Pacific Palisades.
Neither officials nor Tom or Rita have yet revealed what (if anything) was stolen and how much those items might be worth.
The case is currently under police investigation and no arrests have been made as of yet as the couple become at least the fourth celebrity to be beaten in the past month after Bhad Bhabie, Sarah Hyland and Marlon Wayans.

The couple purchased the 14,513-square-foot home in January 2010.
The 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom cliffside mansion is covered in limestone, features three stories and includes a wine cellar, a cliffside pool and terrace and a tree-lined carport, according to Architectural summary.
But the couple have become the latest victims of a series of robberies in the area, and they appear to be the work of one of the many gangs operating in the wealthy area.
In the past six weeks alone, pop star Bhad Bhabie and actress Sarah Hyland have also fallen victim to a sharp rise in robberies in and around Los Angeles, which has police concerned that gangs are becoming more daring.
Four weeks ago, Bhad Bhabie’s home was broken into by burglars after they kicked down her back door before stealing items including handbags and jewellery.
Police raided the rapper’s home after the alarm was activated shortly before 10 p.m. on July 12.
Authorities discovered signs of forced entry, but none of those who broke into the property were found at the scene, although a man in a black hoodie was seen fleeing when police arrived.
Bhad Bhabie, whose real name is Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, is believed to be worth a considerable amount after she recently revealed that she earned a whopping $57 million on OnlyFans.
Sarah Hyland, 33, also had her home broken into by intruders after she saw “two masked men” leaving her property on her CCTV.
The Modern Family star’s Los Angeles home was burglarized on July 27, also in broad daylight, after suspects smashed a glass window to gain access to her home.
Sarah was out of town at the time of the incident, but she caught the crime while watching her security camera footage live on her mobile phone after receiving an alert.
TMZ revealed that police were called to the property and conducted a sweep to ensure none of the criminals were still lurking nearby.
Just a few weeks ago, 21-year-old Bhad Bhabie’s home was broken into, but she was not on the property at the time.
At least one burglar reportedly broke into the back door of Bhad Bhabie’s home and stole items including handbags and jewelry.
On July 27, actress Sarah Hyland was assaulted in her home, also in broad daylight.

Police sources told TMZ that the burglars sneaked into Marlon’s backyard and “broke a back window” to gain access to the home.
Although the case is still under investigation, the police have not made any arrests in the case so far.
It is not immediately clear what may have been stolen from Hyland’s home.
The former Love Island USA host will take inventory of her possessions as soon as she returns to Los Angeles, which police will use to help track down any stolen property.
Actor and comedian Marlon Wayans was also the victim of a robbery at his Los Angeles home recently, on June 29, and shortly afterward he posted a warning for potential burglars.
In an Instagram post she said: ‘Don’t waste your time.
“They didn’t get much because I don’t have anything. I don’t have anything of value in my house except MY HOUSE. Sorry, I live a simple life.”
TMZ previously reported that the robbery took place around 2:30 a.m. while his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans was sleeping.
A staff member discovered in the morning that the house had been ransacked and a safe had been taken.
The latest news of Tom and Rita’s home being broken into comes nearly a year after the couple’s son Chet, 34, encountered an intruder in his own home.
At the time, the suspect reportedly attacked the arresting officers at the scene, but Chet was unharmed.
Chet recently shared details about his upbringing and confessed that he felt “worthless” despite having famous parents.
While chatting with his fellow celebrities on ‘Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets’, Chet revealed: ‘I’ll tell you a little bit about my childhood.
‘People think that being Tom Hanks’s son, I’m going to grow up feeling like I’m the coolest thing.
“I actually grew up feeling completely worthless. People would tell me, ‘You must think you’re better than me,’ when you weren’t.
‘I just wanted to be friends with everyone and be treated like everyone else.
“But what am I supposed to do? Walk through the doors and be timid and meek? It was a real mess to deal with.
“If you walk in the door and say, ‘Here I am, you son of a b***h,’ then it’s like, ‘Oh, look at you, you arrogant son of a b***h.’ I internalized all that negativity. Maybe I’m a useless b***h, you know what I’m saying?
