Tom Cruise reportedly hired hawks to keep pigeons off the set of Mission: Impossible 8.
The actor, 61, has been spotted across the UK in recent months as production begins on the iconic high-octane film franchise.
And keepers have now brought in birds of prey to scare away pigeons while filming scenes in London’s Trafalgar Square.
The capital is home to three million pigeons and thousands fill the square every day.
A source said Sun: “It was a smart move and allowed the scenes to be filmed smoothly.”

It comes after Tom was seen fighting off a riot in London’s Trafalgar Square on Sunday as filming for Mission: Impossible: 8 continued.
London was filled with American soldiers and police for the action-packed scene in which Tom is seen outside a purpose-built tube station.
A green army tank sat outside the station as Tom’s character Ethan Hunt met up with Benji Dunn, played by Simon Pegg.
The couple shook hands, Tom was wearing a black leather jacket and Simon was wearing a tan jacket.
The actor recently returned to the UK to film the eighth installment of Mission: Impossible and was spotted filming in the heart of Westminster, just a few blocks from Downing Street.
The untitled film, which will likely be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, is scheduled to be released on May 23, 2025, following the release of Dead Reckoning Part One in July last year.
MI:8 was supposed to hit theaters this summer, but production had already been delayed due to the Hollywood writers’ strike.
Production on the eighth film had originally been halted so the cast could promote the first part, and then the strike began causing further delays.
The Mission: Impossible film series began in 1996 and is based on the 1966 television series of the same name.
In addition to starring Tom, the eighth film will also see the return of stars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff and Vanessa Kirby.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One underperformed at the box office compared to the previous films in the franchise, despite Tom’s attempts to extend his career.
Tom has been mixing work and play during his time in Europe, even partying all night with his friends the Beckhams at Victoria’s 50th birthday party on Saturday night.
It comes after Tom was seen fighting off a riot in London’s Trafalgar Square on Sunday while filming Mission Impossible: 8 sequel.
While a VIP guest at Victoria’s, Tom missed his daughter Suri’s 18th birthday last week.
Tom has been separated from his youngest son since 2013, a year after he and his mother, Katie Holmes, divorced.
Suri’s 18th birthday also marks the end of the $400,000-a-year child support payment Tom paid to Katie under their divorce agreement.
The Top Gun actor’s last photo with his daughter was from a trip to Disneyland in 2012, the year his divorce from Katie was finalized.
At the time of their separation, it was reported that Katie had decided to end the couple’s marriage for fear of raising her daughter as a Scientologist, the religion Tom has dedicated himself to for decades.
Last year it was reported that Suri hopes to study fashion in New York starting in September.
A source told Dailymail.com: ‘Suri is applying to schools all over. (Katie) really wants her to stay in New York so they can be close to each other.
“Katie is very proud of her, but she is also extremely overprotective.”
Tom has been mixing work and play during his long trip to Europe, even partying all night with his friends the Beckhams at Victoria’s 50th birthday party on Saturday night.
While Suri looks forward to his future career, Tom continues to give his all for him.
