Tom Burgess and his wife Tahlia Giumelli step out with their newborn baby Alfie - just after his footy legend brother Sam made a stunning move

  • The son of the South Sydney Rabbitohs star arrived just two weeks ago
  • He delivered the baby before playing a game for the Bunnies.

Football star Tom Burgess and his wife Tahlia Giumelli were spotted for the first time with their newborn son Alfie as they took him on a coffee trip in Sydney on Thursday.

The happy parents took their two-week-old to a cafe near their home in Cronulla, south of Sydney, after saying he was “built like a Burgess” when he came into the world weighing a very healthy 4kg.

Customers at the cafe couldn’t help but smile as the couple showed off their new baby, whom Tom carried around in a Bugaboo carrycot.

The newest member of the Burgess family has reportedly just met his Uncle Sam, who made the surprising decision to fly to Australia for his induction into the NRL Hall of Fame despite being in the middle of his job as a football coach in England.

It was a big ask for the Souths legend, who flew into Sydney on Monday night, just hours after leading his Warrington side to victory in a Super League clash.

He was scheduled to get back on a plane on Thursday, but the whirlwind trip left him a little tired.

“I don’t know what day it is or what time it is,” he said. News Corporation.

“It’s been great to be back. I’ve seen my kids, I’ve seen my brothers, I’m going to go see some friends.”

Tahlia took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her son on August 11.

“Alfie Mark Burgess was born 8/8/24 at 4:04pm He’s built like a Burgess, weighs 4kg and is 54cm long,” Tahlia, 30, wrote alongside pictures of the little one.

She added: “Our sweet little boy, the perfect addition to our family.”

Tahlia also explained that her man assisted in the birth before playing a game for the Rabbitohs.

“Tom put on the gloves to deliver our little boy and then went from midwife’s assistant to soccer player and arrived in time to run out onto the field and play with his team,” she wrote alongside a video of the newborn.

In a third post, Tahlia explained that Alfie is a “family name” and added: “His two older sisters already adore and spoil him.”

“Brought into the world with the help of Dad, our amazing obstetrician and midwives, we are incredibly grateful to them for allowing Tom to be a part of this beautiful moment,” she said.

‘I’ll be enjoying all the newborn cuddles and this little newborn bubble.’

Last Wednesday, Tahlia gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek into how she was feeling after giving birth.

“Something I’ve learned over the years, especially after having my kids, is how grateful I am for my body, stretch marks and all,” she wrote.

‘My focus now is not the number on the scale or my clothing size, but rather healing and recovering and spending the next few months regaining my strength.

“My fitness goals now are to get into a body that allows me to run after my kids, carry Alfie until he’s ready to walk, and really feel as healthy and strong as possible so I can be the best dad I can be.”

The couple already have two older children, daughters Sophie, four, and Elodie, three.

They tied the knot in a stunning star-studded ceremony at a waterfront park in Watsons Bay, Sydney, in 2022.

In April 2017, it was revealed that the footballer had been dating the stunning model for six months.

In August 2019, they announced the arrival of their first child, a girl named Sophie Heather.
