Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner and his wife Theresa Nist have announced that they are divorcing after just three months of marriage.
According Good morning america — which airs on ABC, the same network as the Bachelor franchise — Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, made the decision to end their marriage, and the couple opened up about the split in an interview on the show morning today.
“Theresa and I have had several heart-to-heart conversations and have taken a long, hard look at our situation, our living situation, etc., and we have come to the mutual conclusion that it’s probably time for ‘We dissolve our marriage,'” Gerry told host Juju Chang.
He admitted that their decision to separate was motivated in large part by their “dedication” to their respective families, hinting that this has made it incredibly difficult for them to decide on a place to settle down together.

“We’ve received so much love and support from so many people who watched The Golden Bachelor, and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us it gave them so much hope,” Theresa added. “We don’t want any of that to change for anyone.”
Gerry and Theresa’s shock announcement comes just days after it was revealed the couple were still living in separate homes three months after their January wedding.
Additionally, TMZ reported that the married couple actually resided in separate states: Gerry lived at their lake house in northern Indiana, while Theresa remained at her home in New Jersey, where she had been living with her family.
