Tom Brady sent an emotional message to Randy Moss after his former New England Patriots teammate stepped away from ESPN to fight a mysterious illness.

Last week, ESPN announced that Moss, who normally works on his Sunday show NFL Countdown, will temporarily leave the show to focus on a “personal health challenge.”

While it’s unclear exactly what he’s going through, the Hall of Fame wide receiver wore sunglasses in his final appearance Sunday on NFL Countdown after admitting he was “fighting something internal.”

Tributes have poured in since ESPN confirmed it is leaving the network, including rival Fox Sports analysts.

Two of his former teammates, Brady and Rob Gronkowski, currently work for Fox, and both were on hand with heartfelt messages for Moss during his final broadcast on Sunday.

“One of the great teammates and friends of all time, in touch to this day,” Brady said. ‘Our heart obviously goes out to you, our prayers, all our positive energy.

“We love you so much, man.”

Gronkowski then added, “We’re thinking about you, Randy.” We love you man.’

After starting his career in Minnesota and then moving to Oakland, Moss joined Brady in New England in 2007.

That season, the duo were part of one of the best teams in league history, despite their notorious Super Bowl XLII loss to the New York Giants.

Over the course of his career, Moss led the NFL in touchdown receptions five times, including in 2007, when he set the all-time record for touchdown receptions in a season.

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018, was named to the NFL All-Decade Team and the NFL All-Time Centennial Team.

Late last month, fans were left concerned about Moss after he claimed his eyes looked more yellow than usual while he was on Sunday NFL Countdown.

After admitting he was battling a health issue on the show, the football great also said in a video on Instagram: “During the holiday week, your son has been battling something internal.

‘I just ask all prayer warriors to put your blessings on me and my family in these difficult times.

‘Last week people asked me about my eyes. If you watch them on Sunday NFL Countdown (puts on glasses), Adam Schefter calls them the Michigan billing glasses they sent from Ohio last night.

‘Your son is going to get through this. I have a great team of doctors and a great family around me.

“Get your checkups, get your blood tests done and we’ll figure it out.”
