Tom Brady could be in trouble with the NFL for his comments about the controversial ejection of Brian Branch during the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers game.
Brady is not allowed to publicly criticize NFL referees in his job as an analyst for Fox because he is also a co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
The rules were agreed upon with Brady and the league last month when his involvement with the franchise was finally approved after months of debate and scrutiny.
But Brady, who has a $375 million, 10-year contract with Fox to call NFL games, appeared to break that agreement Sunday afternoon.
“I don’t love that call at all,” Brady said. “Obviously it’s a penalty, but for me it has to be a serious intention in a game like this.”

Tom Brady could be in trouble for his comments calling Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers
Branch was ejected after hitting Packers receiver Bo Melton in the head on an incomplete pass.
He was flagged for unnecessary roughness before the league offices in New York reviewed the play and intervened, telling the referee that Branch should be ejected.
Branch was furious and clearly angry as he left the field, and the scenes prompted Brady to offer his take on what happened.
Last week, Brady came under fire for describing Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as “a fool” on air.
Brady said, “He played like a fool at times, like a grade-schooler with a sugar high, but now he’s brought the chaos under control.” “It’s like a storm coming to town and you don’t want that storm to come to this town.”
The latest incident marks another difficult moment for Brady in a week in which his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, announced she was pregnant at age 44 by her jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.
Brady, 47, appeared to react to the news with a cryptic post on Instagram.
‘Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?’ Brady wrote alongside a photo of the setting sun. The lyrics, posted to Instagram on Monday night, are lyrics from the Fleetwood Mac song ‘Landslide.’ The 1975 hit was later covered by The Chicks.
The incident comes days after Brady’s ex-wife, Gisele Bundchen, announced that she is pregnant.
Brady added audio about the story and users heard: ‘Oh mirror in the sky, what is love?’ Can the child inside my heart rise? Can I navigate through the changing tides of the ocean?
Brady and Bundchen were married for 13 years before breaking up in October 2022. Shortly after the divorce, Bundchen began dating Valente, who was pictured as her instructor during their marriage. The supermodel denied cheating accusations after their split.
Their divorce also came after Brady backed out of his initial retirement from the NFL to return for one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In addition to having to refrain from criticizing officials, Brady is also prohibited from visiting another team’s facilities and witness practice, and is not allowed to attend broadcast production meetings in any capacity.
