Tom Brady was asked in an awkward moment live on Fox about his search for a new Las Vegas Raiders head coach — amid calls to fire him over a conflict of interest.

Brady, who just started his 10-year, $375 million Fox contract this season, was at the center of controversy Saturday night en route to the Detroit Lions’ playoff against the Washington Commanders, who defeated the Lions by 45- 31 lost.

With the game being shown on Fox, many wondered what it would be like for the legendary quarterback to commentate on it, as he recently interviewed with Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson for the vacant head coaching job in Las Vegas.

Brady has come under fire for combining his ownership role with broadcasting since acquiring a minority stake in the Raiders in October, and Saturday’s Divisional playoff in Detroit has put him under even more scrutiny.

Earlier this week, radio host Dan Patrick accused the NFL of “bending over backwards” to help him, adding, “How often do you listen to a game where you start reading, maybe an ulterior motive?”

Following the outcry over his alleged conflict of interest, the seven-time Super Bowl winner was asked live on air by Fox colleague Kevin Burkhardt about conducting interviews for the Raiders vacancy.

“So for those who may not know… Tom, you had a little side hustle a few months ago by simply purchasing a minority stake in the Raiders. So you know, just normal stuff,” Burkhardt said.

After laughing awkwardly, Brady said of interviewing head coaches, “It was just a great learning experience. What you realize is the great potential of the league, and I think the resumes, the accolades… they’re all earned by what people do on the field.

“You earn your chances, you perform and let it all speak for itself. Exactly as it should be, and as I did when I was a player.’

Burkhardt then added, “You’re stuck with me here at Fox for the next ten years whether you like it or not.”

“Luckily,” Brady replied before joking, “I’d break a few kneecaps for you, KB. Whatever you want me to do, honey.”

Brady is reportedly playing a major role in the search for Antonio Pierce’s replacement after the Raiders head coach was fired last week.

The NFL legend and his fellow Las Vegas chiefs interviewed Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and ex-New York Jets coach Robert Saleh and Johnson or will do so.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, he would prefer Johnson and the retired signal caller who is “in love” with him.

Raiders owner Mark Davis recently revealed that Brady will have a “big say” in the franchise’s future, but former MLB executive Davis Samson claimed the retired NFL star can’t be both.

“Tom Brady is running that team right now — the NFL knows it and Fox knows it and something has to be done. So enjoy Tom in the booth because you won’t see him there again next year,” Samson told the Dan Le Batard Show.

“He will be in the Raiders front office, he will not return as an analyst for Fox – you can’t be that involved in the running of a team and be the No. 1 analyst.

‘What he is doing is an absolute insult to analysts. And it’s an insult to the team president what he’s doing.

“You end up doing them both in a mediocre way… and I promise you he’ll choose the Raiders.”
