Tokyo Olympics: Jade Jones AMAZED with Team GB’s double Olympic taekwondo champion knockout

Jade Jones STUNNED after Team GB double Olympic taekwondo champion is knocked OUT in round one in Tokyo with Refugee Team underdog Kimia Alizade winning 16-12

Team GB’s Jade Jones took a major shock in Tokyo after the two-time Olympic taekwondo champion was knocked out by Kimia Alizadeh Zenoorin.

Alizadeh Zenoorin, the bronze medalist from Rio de Janeiro who competed in the Olympic Refugee Team, shocked the favorite to win in the first round.

The surprise was a huge blow to Britain’s medal hopes at this year’s showpiece, but marked a stunning triumph for the great Alizadeh Zenoorin.

Jones was on the hunt for a third consecutive title in the women’s -57kg category, having won gold in London and Rio.

But instead, she looked stunned after her defeat was sealed, despite winning the first round 6-4.

Alizadeh Zenoorin then rallied to take the next two, 6-2 6-4, depriving Jones of control and celebrating it lavishly.

However, Jones could still have a shot at bronze in the repechage, but that would depend on Alizadeh Zenoorin reaching the final.
