A toddler was hit by a car in a horrifying accident in Brazil, but escaped alive without even breaking a bone.
A CCTV camera captured the moment when two-year-old Theo dos Reis Santos unwittingly stepped in front of the car while his mother watched in horror.
The toddler was thrown against the asphalt and under the wheels of the car, which could not stop in time to avoid being run over.
Amazingly, however, Theo not only survived but escaped serious injuries – he came out only with scratches, a broken tooth, and a cut on his neck.
The images taken in Araguari on June 24 showed how the accident occurred after the toddler’s grandmother initially walked him across the street.
Theo’s grandmother left him with his mother, who was at the door of a parked car.
Suddenly, Theo decided to run back down the road – slipping from his mother who was obstructed by the car door and unable to reach him in time.
As the boy ran across the road, at the worst possible moment, a white car appeared that couldn’t possibly stop in time.
After Theo was knocked down, his horrified mother picked him up from the road and took him to the curb as others went to help her and the car came to a halt.
The boy was taken to hospital but only spent a day at the city’s emergency room before being discharged.

Collision: A white car appeared just as Theo crossed the road and knocked him down
An X-ray showed no broken bones, and shortly after Theo jumped happily and played with his sister on a mattress again.
Pediatrician Ana Escobar told GloboFantastico’s news program that the child’s undeveloped bones had come to his rescue.
“The fact that Theo is still a child and his bones are not fully formed helped his body absorb the impact without incurring more serious injuries,” she said.
‘Children’s bones are more malleable, they have a different composition, they are more elastic.
“Therefore, when the car drove over him at that speed, this malleability and elasticity made it go well without breaking any bones.”
