Todd Phillips shares a surprise gift with fans as his wife-to-be joker filming sequel wraps.
The filmmaker took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce that production has wrapped and shared new Pictures of stars Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in character. Phillips previously shared only limited glimpses of the stars in makeup and costumes during the shoot for Joker: Folie à Deuxwith the 2019 film sequel being released by Warner Bros. on October 4, 2024. will be released.
“That’s a wrap,” Phillips captioned the post. “Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew the film industry has to offer. From the top down. I am now going to crawl into a cave (processing room) and put everything together.
Phoenix, who won the Oscar for his lead role in 2019 joker, reprises his role as Arthur Fleck, who was portrayed in the first film as an aspiring comedian struggling with mental health issues. Gaga is believed to be playing DC’s Harley Quinn, which seemed to be confirmed by photos taken last month of the star shooting an outdoor scene for the movie.
Phillips first offered a look at Gaga’s character when he posted a close-up photo to Instagram on Feb. 14 of the performer holding Phoenix’s face. “Happy Valentine’s Day,” the filmmaker wrote with his post at the time.
Joker: Folie à Deux will be one of the DC Elseworlds titles, along with Matt Reeves’ The batter sequel, which will exist outside of the shared universe currently in the works by DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran.
