A heated exchange unfolded live on the Today Show between financial commentator Effie Zahos and the show’s tech guru Trevor Long.
The pair have been fighting over space in the car at Channel Nine’s studios in Sydney.
Presenter Karl Stefanovic on Thursday expressed concern about the duo’s relationship, probing what had caused a deeper rift between them.
“Karl, I really didn’t want to talk about this on national television… I was mortified this morning,” Effie began.
“Basically, Trevor, I’d like you to move that thing you call a car out of my parking space,” Effie declared, eliciting surprised reactions from her colleagues.
The unexpected confrontation left co-host Sarah Abo stunned: “That was a twist, I didn’t expect that, Karlos,” she said.
Effie continued: ‘I’m only away for three days and this morning I drive to the Channel Nine car park and there’s Trevor’s car.’
The saga took another turn on Friday when Trevor Long posted a video on Instagram in response.

In the clip, the tech expert is seen entering a car space with a reserved sign with his name on it.
“Excuse me, what is this, Effie?” she said, pointing at the sign.
“Effie, it’s okay, you can park here all next week, I’ll be in Paris so it’s all yours,” he boasted.
And he didn’t stop there, adding: “Plus, what I call a car is fully electric. So actually, financially, it’s a very good decision because it saves you money on running costs year after year. A little tip for you: go for an electric car.”
