Jill has kept her relationship with Erik relatively private, but in an essay she wrote for Today in February, she indicated how she & # 39; in the fall of 2017 & # 39; the love of (her) life & # 39; online & # 39; has met in a dating app
& # 39; After endless dates, failed relationships and many tears I decided (after a lot of insistence from my mother) to & # 39; explain online dating & # 39 ;, recalling how she went on date after date until she met Erik, a portfolio manager of the Abry & # 39; s Heritage fund.

& # 39; After I split my life into three sentences and found a photo that represented me, I finally struck correctly & # 39 ;, she wrote. & # 39; Erik is kind, honest, funny and puts the family first: he has three beautiful children that I love. & # 39;
In addition to their shared values, Jill and Eric both have parents who have been married for five decades.
While the fashion guru's mum and dad celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February, the banker's parents have been married for 55 years.
Just a month before her surprising engagement, Jill opened her decision to freeze her eggs five years ago at the age of 38.
& # 39; I thought it would give myself an option in the future, whether I met someone or alone, & # 39; she said Page six. & # 39; I wanted to give myself that choice. & # 39;

With medical advances allowing more and more women to have children aged 40, she told Page Six that she no longer feels pressure to have children as soon as possible.
& # 39; It is a pressure that I put on myself and through this journey now (of talking about freezing my eggs), I have enabled myself to take that pressure away, & # 39; she said. & # 39; I am running off course while remaining in my lane. & # 39;
