Today, Extra hosts Tim Davies and Belinda Russell paid a heartfelt tribute to their colleague Davina Smith as she left the show after 10 years.
Co-presenters Tim and Belinda brought veteran news reporter Davina, 42, onto Thursday’s show for an emotional farewell and thanked her for all her hard work during her tenure.
‘Davina has been here for 10 years, bringing you news every morning. “Today is bittersweet because it’s Davina’s last morning with us,” Tim began.
You’ve been here for centuries, long before us! Nobody does this job better than you,” Belinda added.
Davina then became emotional as she thanked her loyal fans for continually following her during her time on the popular morning show.
‘I am very grateful. It’s the best job in the world. The team behind the scenes is incredible, we are so lucky to sit next to them,” Davina began.

The co-hosts then played a special message to Davina from absent Today Extra star David Campbell as she gushed about her long-time colleague.
‘I just want to say that it has been a real honor to sit next to you and work with you. I have learned a lot during this time working with you,” David told him.
‘I know we’ve laughed a lot, I know we’ve joked a lot, you’ve thrown a lot of pens at me.
‘I also wanted to tell you how much I respect you, not only as a journalist, but as a person, as a human being and much more as a father. We’re going to miss you so much, my friend, don’t make me cry.’
Tim and Belinda then revealed Davina’s surprising new career move as she is moving to another popular Channel Nine show – A Current Affair.
You won’t be going too far, which is good! “A Current Affair is very lucky to have you,” Tim said.
The co-hosts then gave Davina a bouquet of flowers as they said a tearful goodbye.

The veteran TV star is believed to join Allison Langdon on the long-running show as a field reporter.
Following her departure from Today Extra, Channel Nine veteran Charles Croucher posted a sweet tribute to Davina on social media.
“Yesterday Nine News Sydney said goodbye to Davina,” Charles began.
‘She was always the rock during the chaotic breakup coverage. So calm, so measured, so professional.
“I loved every moment we worked together and lived by the rule of following Davina’s example.”
Davina started working at Channel Nine Brisbane in 2011 and has since worked tirelessly across their news and breakfast teams across several Australian states.
The move to A Current Affair will mean Davina will have more time to spend with her husband Mark and their two young daughters, Hope and Rose.
