Tobey Maguire’s ex-wife Jennifer Meyer appears to have shot down rumours that the Spider-Man actor is in a relationship with model Lily Chee, who is almost three decades his junior.
A Reddit thread posted on Sunday titled ‘Jen Meyer defends ex-husband Tobey Maguire’ included what People There was reportedly a comment from Meyer denying any romantic connection between Maguire and Chee.
Meyer, a 47-year-old jewelry designer, seemingly addressed reports that had linked Maguire to Chee after they were photographed together at an exclusive July 4th party dubbed the ‘White Party’ in New York’s Hamptons hosted by billionaire Michael Rubin.

One user allegedly asked Meyer, “Why is your ex husband sleeping with someone 3 years older than your daughter?” with three skull emojis.

A response from the @jenmeyerjewelry account read: ‘I don’t usually respond to this nonsense but he was kindly helping a friend get to her car. He was a good person.
“And now he’s been criticized online for dating someone he’s not. But thank you for your rude comments. I hope they made you feel better today. I wish you love and light.”
The comment was later deleted, according to The Independent.
Another comment on Meyer’s jewelry company account, according to People, read: “I’m disassociating myself after this… But don’t believe everything you read (I’m sure you were taught that somewhere), Tobey is as good a guy as can be.”
Neither Maguire nor Chee have publicly addressed speculation of a summer romance since they were photographed together.
Chee documented her outing to the luxury party with a series of photos on Saturday. She posted on Instagramposing alone and with friends. She captioned the photo: “Fun, fun, fun for the 4th of July.”
Maguire and Meyer exchanged vows in 2007 in Kona, Hawaii and would announce they had separated nine years later in 2016.
The former couple, who finally finalized their divorce in 2020, are parents to daughter Ruby Sweetheart, 17, and son Otis Tobias, 15.
On Monday, a close source told US weekly magazine that Maguire and Chee “are not seriously dating, but they have been dating.”
Meyer allegedly defended her ex-husband in a series of Instagram posts that were later reposted to Reddit.
Chee documented her outing to the luxury party with a series of photos on Instagram on Saturday, posing alone and with friends.
The model was photographed during a Paris Fashion Week event on June 20.
Maguire and Meyer announced they had split in 2016 and appeared to be on good terms at an event in Los Angeles in December 2017.

Maguire and Chee were introduced by nightclub impresario Richie Akiva “and mutual friends,” the source told the outlet, adding that the relationship is “not at all serious” at this time.
“They were together all night hanging out, having fun and went to an after-party with a large group,” the source told the outlet.
Other notable names in attendance at the White Party included Kim Kardashian, Megan Thee Stallion, Drake, Megan Fox and Tom Brady, according to People.
