The Tennessee Titans are reportedly hiring Mike Borgonzi as the franchise’s new general manager, according to reports. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Borgonzi, who was one of six candidates the Titans met with twice, replaces Ran Carthon, who was fired last week after two seasons in charge.
Borgonzi has been with the Kansas City Chiefs in various roles since 2009 and has served as the team’s assistant general manager since 2021. He also worked in college and professional scouting, as well as in player personnel and football operations roles within the organization.
After Carthon’s firing, owner Amy Adams Strunk said president of football operations Chad Brinker would lead the search for the next general manager and that head coach Brian Callahan would remain with the team.
Brinker will also be the “final authority on all football matters,” not the new general manager, although Borgonzi will be the leader when it comes to free agency and the draft.
Leading the franchise’s decision-making on draft day will be important in 2025 with the Titans, who went 3-14 last season, with the No. 1 overall pick.
