His condition was reported in the Spanish media.

The elderly actress rose to fame for her role as Hitchcock’s leading lady in The Birds, a horror thriller about a city attacked by murderous creatures.

However, their relationship was said to have been somewhat tumultuous, and the director allegedly subjected Hedren to cruel treatment on set to get more out of her performance.

This included strapping live birds to her body with rubber bands, according to Lawrence Leamer, author of Hitchcock’s Blondes: The Unforgettable Women Behind the Director’s Dark Obsession.

The experience reportedly terrified Hedren, as the birds pecked near her eyes and face.

To add to her hellish experience, the actress was subjected to a barrage of Hitchcock’s dirtiest jokes, Leamer claims.

Former model Hedren was pushed into the film industry by Hitchcock, who saw her in a commercial before casting her in The Birds. He also starred in the hit films Marnie, Birds II and Pacific Heights.

Her work has earned her a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer in 1964.

Hedren has been an outspoken animal rights activist, with a particular interest in big cats, even welcoming them into her home, including a 300-pound lion named Neil, which she kept as a pet.

His lifelong love affair with lions began in 1969 while filming a movie in Africa.

He was inspired to make the disastrous adventure film ‘Roar’ after visiting a wildlife reserve.

The film has since been called “the most dangerous film ever made” and starred Hedren along with her 13-year-old daughter.

To make the film, she needed to raise her own cubs and has since had more than 150 big cats as pets.

However, dealing with all the animals proved extremely difficult and financially challenging.

During a promotional shoot, Hedren was bitten on the head by a lion named Cherries, whose teeth scraped her skull.

“Who exactly did we think we were to risk all these lives (our team’s lives, our animals’ lives, our lives, and most of all, our children’s lives) for what was really nothing more than a very, very expensive home movie? ” Hedren wrote in his memoirs.

He later changed his mind about big cats and declared that they should not be kept as pets.

Hedren received a lifetime achievement award from the Humane Society of the United States.

In addition to her famous daughter, Hedren is the grandmother of actress Dakota Johnson, the only child of Melanie and her husband Don Johnson.

Hedren has been married three times: first to advertising executive Peter Griffith in 1952.

In 1964, she married her agent Noel Marshall, before the two divorced in 1982.

Three years later, Hedren married Luis Barrenechea. The couple were together for a decade before separating in 1995.
