The third-largest lottery jackpot of the year will be drawn Thursday night, when a $100 million Powerball jackpot will be up for grabs.

The popular Lotto bet has soared to a huge sum in draw 1489 and follows four consecutive draws without a division one winner.

The $100 million figure makes it the third-largest jackpot offered by any Australian lottery game in 2024, the company said.

The chances of winning the jackpot, which requires seven matching numbers plus the powerball, are approximately one in 134 million.

Lott expects millions of Australians to take part in Thursday’s draw.

In February, a record $200 million jackpot was won, while a South Australian scooped $150 million, the largest individual win ever.

In August, a Brisbane woman won the jackpot in Powerball draw 1475, taking home a $100 million prize.

“We would like to travel a little,” the woman said when asked what she would do with the money.

‘Maybe a family holiday somewhere. “We always wanted to go see New Zealand and Fiji.”
