With a glimpse of the sun over Easter weekend and Covid-19’s restrictions loosening, it looks like summer is getting closer and closer – and with the warm weather coming the latest bizarre swimwear hacks.
People have gone to TikTok to share tutorials on how to wear bikini bottoms as a stylish swimwear top – even using bottoms from two different sets to create a color-blocked bikini top in just four easy steps.
TikTok user from Miami @jmegss recorded an easy to follow video and you can see how to pick up a black bikini bottom and flip it over at a 90 degree angle, before putting an arm through the crotch opening.
In the creative clip, which has been viewed over 99,000 times, Jordyn puts her other arm and head through the waist opening to make a belt, pulling the material down so that it covers one of her breasts.
Then she repeats it with the orange snake print bikini bottoms on the other side.

CREATE A BIKINI TOP WITH COLOR BLOCKS
Buy two pairs of bikini bottoms. Turn a pair at a 90 degree angle and put one arm through the crotch opening
2. Put other arm and head through the waist opening to create a belt
3. Pull the material down so that it covers modesty
4. Repeat with other bikini bottoms on the other side
And many quickly took to the comments section to express how happy they were with the clever hack.
“I finally got it,” said one enthusiastically. ‘I literally tried this out. I GOT IT! ‘, While a second commented,’ That’s such a thing, so smart. ‘
A third called the idea “genius,” while a fourth added, “I’m going to try this now.”
Another admitted: ‘I tried this and it was so perfect.’
However, not everyone got the hang of it the first time.
‘I did the first side very easily and then I had to do the right side and I was confused. I mean CONFUSED, ”one wrote.
A second agreed: “No matter how many times I tried this, I didn’t get it.”
Meanwhile, a third commented, “I think it must be a size larger than your normal size because I died from the pressure on my breasts, or is it just me?”
However, Jordyn urged her followers not to give up, writing, “Pause and play as often as you need to.”
Rather than looking for a new set of swimwear, other fashion influencers wanted to show how the concept works on a range of styles, including tie bottoms and the more classic briefs.
TikTok user @evelyncruz was seen transforming a pair of palm tree print tie bottoms into a stylish halterneck knotted triangle bikini top.

The talented Evelyn not only stopped at the triangle bikini, she also showed how it worked with a different halter style
After putting her arms in the leg hole, Evelyn showed how a completely different look could be achieved
In the short clip she first knots a knot in the middle of the material, before bringing a belt on both sides and making a loop to create a neckline.
The influencer then pulls it over her neck and positions the bikini across her chest to create the beloved triangle shape.
To hold it in place, she moves the remaining bands and the back, then ties them into a bow.
And if you don’t have a thong bikini, Evelyn Cruz also demonstrates the trickier option of using a regular bikini that creates a similar push-up look.
One person went to the comment section and called the nifty hack ‘genius’ and another ‘creative’ (pictured)
