TikTok star Ophelia Nichols’ son was dealing marijuana when he was shot dead in his car

The son of an Alabama TikTok influencer shared marijuana moments before he was shot.

Randon Lee, the son of Ophelia Nichols, who has seven million followers, was killed a day before his 19th birthday when he was shot in his car at a gas station in Prichard, near Mobile.

Police have identified two suspects, but no arrests have yet been made in the case.

Police revealed how Lee was at the gas station and meeting the suspects to sell cannabis when he was shot at.

Investigators released footage of Lee and the suspects driving to the gas station pump in their respective cars.

One of the suspects gets into Lee’s car where he fired the fatal shot.

He then got back into his own vehicle before driving away.

Lee, who was fatally injured, managed to drive to another gas station where he died, Detective Jason Hadaway explained at a press conference.

“We know at this point that Mr. Lee had a relationship selling to several individuals. These two people had bought something from him in the past,” Detective Hadaway said.

Lee was not on the radar of the local police as someone known to sell drugs.

Ophelia Nichols posted a video to her TikTok account in which she admitted that the family had discovered “a lot of things we just didn’t know” in the past few days.

“If your kids live on their own and pay their bills and they have good jobs… you don’t think they would do anything to get themselves in trouble,” Nichols said.

“We’ve been told that the detectives believe marijuana was being traded. My son met there, and either they tried to rob him or they robbed him, but he got shot.

Nichols went on to explain that her son had had “problems” in recent years.

“My son had a lot of problems after his father passed away. Depression, everything. We’ve done everything we can to keep him on the right track. Everyone thought he was because he was so good with everything,” she explained.

“We just had a birthday dinner for him and told him how proud we were of him. He comes from good people and from a good family and a good home. But sometimes it just doesn’t matter. But it doesn’t give anyone the right to shoot my son,” Nichols said.

On Sunday evening she posted a video in which she desperately asked for help to find son Randon Lee’s killers. The video has since been viewed 25 million times, which police say has led to a significant number of people coming forward with information.

‘Madam. Nichols has TikTok following, which is great, and all those followers could help by calling. This murder is no more important than any murder we’ve had in the town of Prichard or anywhere else for that matter,” Detective Hadaway said.

“It will be known and I have to let everyone know. I’m doing this video for a reason. I’ve never asked any of you for anything, but I need your help with this,” Nichols said during a tearful plea.

Today would have been my baby’s 19th birthday. My son was murdered. He was shot and I have a hatred in my heart that I don’t recognize because I’ve never felt hatred for anyone,” she continued.

“This person has taken my son’s life and I know they are right there in my town. They live and breathe out there and my son is dead. He was just 18 years old. That’s the best part of anyone’s life, and I know they’re out there in my town. They’re out there,’ she said.

“I want you to look at my son. This is my son. And you took it from me,” Nichols said, sobbing.

“Someone knows who did this to my child and I’m asking for someone’s help. Help someone,” she said before the video stopped.

The heartbreaking video was a huge departure from the kind of material she normally posts on the social media platform, which normally consists of posting upbeat, upbeat videos of herself delivered with Southern charm.

Her posts cover everything from family gatherings to sharing a new recipe or sharing beauty tips.

Nichols said her son was shot at around 7:45 a.m. Friday at an Exxon gas station. He then drove to a second station, Energizer, in the town of Prichard, Alabama, near Mobile, where he was found to have died of his injuries.

Her heartbreaking plea has already managed to rack up nearly 19 million views in one day, with some locals offering their support and assistance in the comments section.

‘People talk. People are talking so I wanted that video to be seen because if the person who did this to my son can see what he did to our family. He took my son from me. My son,” Nichols said.

“Just been told we have a trail of two people. I hope they see this video and know what they did to my family,” she wrote in an update in the comments to her tear-jerking video.

Nichols told the local station NBC12 that she found it difficult to do nothing and hopes that the police will track down those responsible.

“You have to sit back and hope and pray that they do what needs to be done so that the person or people who did this to my baby get behind bars. You have no choice but to wait here,’ she said.

“I spoke to him around 10 a.m. yesterday morning to tell him I had his money for his birthday. He looked forward to it. Just hanging out with his friends and girlfriend. His family was his life,” she added.

She said there was some solace in the fact that her son was an organ donor and that part of him will live on with his organs transplanted into others.

Nichol’s shock quickly turned to sadness and now to anger.

‘I have a hatred in my heart that I don’t recognize. Because I’ve never felt hatred for anyone,” she said.

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation continues. The motive behind the murder remains unclear.
