A 29-year-old TikTok star best known for her dating comedy series has died by suicide, the New York City medical examiner’s office has confirmed.
Eva Evans hanged herself in her apartment on April 20, authorities said. TMZ after previous reports suggested he had left a suicide note.
Police found the creator of the ‘Club Rat’ series after obtaining a key from a friend who had seen her the day before.
According to police sources, he appeared to have hung himself from the ceiling of his living room. The influencer’s friends said they didn’t know she was depressed or that she had mental health issues.
Evans, who amassed more than 305,000 followers on TikTok where she posted about her life in New York as a rising filmmaker, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Yesterday my family received the news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, loving and fun Eva, my beautiful sister, has died,” her sister Lila Joy said in an Instagram post revealing the tragic news.
‘After 24 hours, I’m still in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how incredible and difficult it will be to process this news.
“I would like to have Eva here now to refer me because she would have better words and would know how to say what I don’t,” he continued.
‘I’ll be brief so we can plan the next few days, but you’ll hear a lot more from me about how much Eva means to me and how different the world will be without her.’
Actress Julia Fox also paid an emotional tribute to Evans, calling him a ‘New York Icon.’
“That’s the kind of person she was, always defending me,” the Uncut Gems star said through tears.
Evans is said to have left a suicide note but its contents are unknown and his sister Lila Joy confirmed his death on Instagram.

Reality star Lo Bosworth also expressed her condolences in Evans’ last Instagram post before her death.
“Rest in peace, angel Eva, you were always kind to me when others didn’t care. I will never forget that kindness,” The Hills alum wrote.

Collages of images of Evans throughout his life were displayed inside the church, along with a variety of flowers. Others were seen wearing T-shirts with his face on them and petting their dog Slayer.
