Tiger Woods revealed the reason behind his new goatee and shared why he’ll likely keep it ahead of the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.

During his Tuesday press conference, a reporter told the 48-year-old that “the Internet loves” his facial hair and asked him what inspired the change.

‘Was it a conscious choice or laziness?’ the journalist questioned.

“It’s the second one,” Woods responded. “I’m definitely lazy.”

“I cut myself this morning trying to trim it,” he added. ‘So, it is what it is.’

Woods enters the PGA Championship tournament following his appearance at The Masters last month.

He headed to Augusta and set the tournament record for most consecutive cuts with 24. However, Woods finished last among 60 players who made the cut.

However, the most prolific winner in PGA Tour history believes he still has some fire left to compete and win against the best golfers.

“I still feel like I can win golf tournaments,” Woods shared. “I still feel like I can hit shots and I still feel like I still have my hands around the greens and I can putt.” I only need to do it for four days, not like I did it in Augusta for only two.’
