In a trial in which two of Trump’s sons and a daughter-in-law joined Donald Trump in a Manhattan courtroom, Monday featured an unexpected reference to Tiffany Trump and the shocking revelation of an apparent blackmail attempt.
It relates to an attempted “extortion” of the president’s daughter just weeks before Election Day 2016.
At the time, Tiffany Trump was a relatively low-key member of the Trump family. She appeared with her father at the 2016 Republican convention, but she did not have the same public profile as half-brothers Donald Trump, Jr., Eric Trump, and her half-sister Ivanka Trump.
Ivanka Trump would later join her father in the White House, and Don Jr. and Eric helped run the Trump Organization while Trump was president.
Blanche pressed witness Michael Cohen during cross-examination Monday about the apparent “extortion” attempt involving the president’s daughter. The reason: establishing that Cohen had multiple reasons for talking to Donald Trump during a critical period, beyond the Stormy Daniels affair she testified about.
Tiffany Trump was the victim of an apparent extortion attempt in 2016, Michael Cohen testified Monday. It came at a time when Cohen testified that she spoke to Donald Trump about Stormy Daniels’ hush payments. Defense attorneys say the call could have addressed other pressing matters.
“You agree with me, right, that a lot happened both in your personal life and with President Trump in those first two weeks of October?” -Blanca asked. Cohen agreed.
—Do you remember that on October 25 she communicated to you her concern that someone was trying to blackmail her? -Blanca asked. “Yes, sir,” Cohen responded.
He handled it immediately and spoke with David Pecker, Tiffany Trump and others, he testified.
This is the day after he testified that he spoke to Trump about bribing the porn star using the phone of Keith Schiller, Trump’s former security chief. But Blanche had previously noted that the date of the call coincided with prank calls Cohen was receiving from a 14-year-old boy, based on Cohen’s text messages with Schiller.
Blanche also called it a “potential extortion attempt” involving photographs, during a dramatic day in court where Cohen admitted to stealing $60,000 from Trump.

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump attended the trial, while Tiffany, right, did not.
Blanche then noted that Trump was preparing for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for his new hotel in DC on October 26. That gave her multiple topics she could have talked about with Trump during a phone call in which she Blanche last week accused Cohen of “lying” about what came up.
—So it was important for you to fix the Tiffany Trump situation? -Blanca asked him.
“It was important for me to take care of things, but it wasn’t important to me personally,” he responded.
‘Wouldn’t that be something you informed his father about when you spoke the next morning?’ -Blanca asked.
“No sir,” was Cohen’s response.
It was the only mention of Tiffany Trump in the month-long trial. Eric Trump and Don Jr. have appeared with their father inside Manhattan criminal court, as has Eric’s wife, Lara, co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
Tiffany Trump has kept her low profile since graduating from Georgetown University Law School in 2020.
She met her now-husband Michael Boulos in 2018 at Lindsey Lohan’s beach club in Greece. She proposed in the White House Rose Garden in 2021 and they married at Mar-a-Lago the following year.
Tiffany’s X profile highlights her academic achievements, mentioning her law degree from Georgetown. She says she was president of the Cyberlaw Society, a legal club, and she mentions a law professor, as well as her degree from the University of Pennsylvania, which her father also attended.
It was not immediately clear what legal work he has done since finishing law school.
Her Instagram page features photos from her glamorous wedding and numerous images of her father and siblings. There are also several images of the interior of the White House.
